• Is it permissible for both my spouse and me to submit entries separately?

  Both spouses have the eligibility to submit individual entries for the Diversity Visa.
  Should one spouse be selected, the other will be considered a dependent and remain eligible for a green card.
• Is there a minimum age to apply for a DV-Lottery?

  Although there is no specific age threshold, individuals below the age of 18 are typically ineligible for Diversity Visa applications due to the requirement of possessing a high school education or relevant work experience.
• If I win the DV-Lottery, will I be granted a Green Card?

  Being selected as a DV-Lottery (Green Card Lottery) winner is a significant initial step in the U.S. immigration process.
  However, winning does not automatically guarantee the issuance of a Diversity Visa or a U.S. Permanent Resident Green Card.
  It signifies that you now have the opportunity to progress through the immigration procedure to apply for one of the 55,000 Diversity Visas and Green Cards available annually.
  Successful completion of the Consular Interview process is necessary before you and your family can obtain a Diversity Immigration Visa and be conferred a U.S. Permanent Resident Green Card.
• When does the annual DV-Lottery registration period take place?

  The US State Department usually announces the specific dates for the annual DV-Lottery registration period shortly before its commencement.
  Historically, the registration period for the DV-Lottery has taken place between October and November.
• Why was the DV-Lottery established?

  The Diversity Visa program, initiated by the Immigration Act of 1990, was designed to amplify the variety of immigrants in the United States.
  It was a reaction to the recognition that a small number of countries contributed significantly to the majority of immigrants in the United States.

• When are the results of the DV-Lottery released?

  In recent years, the Diversity Visa Lottery results have been released to participants around May or June on the US State Department's E-DV website.
  For the DV-2024 Diversity Visa Lottery, scheduled for early 2023, the results will be available from May 2023 onwards.
  It's important to note that the US State Department does not personally notify DV-Lottery participants of their selection as winners.
  However, American GC promptly contacts its clients who are selected as winners so they can proceed with the subsequent steps of the US immigration process promptly.
